Penny Park

People often ask us how we like living here. We definately think Silver City has its ups and downs. One thing that we will definately miss is a big park that we live just one block away from.

Penny Park is really one of the coolest playgrounds I've ever seen. It's made of all wood and has some great features!

One thing I really like about it is that it's split into two sections: one for older kids and one for younger kids. The little kids side has toddler swings, smaller slides, and tons of things to clime on. It's perfect for hide and seek! It's great that it's set up this way so you don't get the bigger kids running all over the little ones!

I know when we move in a couple of months there will be plenty of places for us to go as a family and play, but I think we'll miss Penny Park and always think of it when we think of our time here.

I think every mom has taken a picture like this! We just can't help it! It's so adorable to see your big strong man snuggled up and fast asleep with your sweet little baby!

Time flies on Blogger

So I decided to get with it and fancy-up my blog a little (branch out from the default blogger templates). That was about an hour and a half ago! I can't believe I spent a whole nap-time on the couch beautifying my blog! I feel like I just wasted 90 minutes of my life and I fear I'm getting addicted to the computer! My laptop is now practically an extension of my actual lap! Between this new blog thing, my family's website, Modbe, selling on ebay/half.com, indexing, and facebook - I spend way too much time on this thing! In fact, a few weeks ago, David was saying he was getting a little jealous of the computer and started calling it my boyfriend! He even named the laptop, "Ted" ! I'm turning off the computer now and I'm going to go play Hungry Hippos with my daughter!

Lately I've been taking Caroline to the pool 3 times a week. We get free lessons by being guinea pigs for a WSI class (the class a lifeguard must take to become certified as a swimming instructor)! Caroline has always loved the water and has no fear whatsoever! People often make comments like "Looks like you've got a little fish there!" And every time Caroline matter-of-factly replies, "No. I'm a mermaid." !

We tried goggles today. She jumped in with them on and when she surfaced she ripped them off. I asked her why she took them off and she said, "They're all wet!" :)

As a former lifeguard myself, I was proud that the instructors felt comfortable enough to use Caroline as a "victim" in a rescue drill. (yes, I realize this picture may look a little freaky unless you know what's happening!)
